We give thanks to our Father above for delivering us safely from Dolly.
We would like to give you an overview of the damage done to the church building as a result of the hurricane. We lost portions of our roofing material which resulted in water damage throughout a large portion of the western half of the building. The downstairs damage was in the Sanctuary (partially), Fellowship Hall (mainly), the Men’s Sunday School Class, two of the nurseries, and the kitchen. These rooms will need new insulation, drywall, paint and carpet/flooring. The men’s restroom near the fellowship hall is being completing redone. All the appliances in the kitchen will be replaced. The upstairs has six rooms that will receive new insulation, drywall, paint and carpet. The drying out process has been a noisy and hot affair with dryers operating throughout the church.
Our goal is to function at 100% during the restoration period which should take about two months. Please pray that we have patience with one another during this time. Our Sunday school space is very limited and we must share the undamaged rooms. We will be constantly moving in and out of these rooms during restoration. Pray also for our Fall and Back to School Events that may either be canceled or postponed. Pray especially for the loss of work and revenue to many of our church members, and that God will provide for them and their families. In saying that, please also pray for our church’s finances.
Please also pray for our restoration team leaders Bobbie, Mark and Rick for patience, strength, peace, and rest. They have truly been a blessing sent from God to help us with this project.
